Comprehensive TBI Evaluation and Rehabilitation
Objective diagnostics and evidence-based treatment for patients recovering from traumatic brain injury (TBI)
What is a TBI?
A traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a disruption to normal brain function caused by an external physical force. Concussions are considered mild TBIs and can occur from contact or non-contact movement or blows that cause the brain to move rapidly back and forth within the skull, and with or without the loss of consciousness. Motor vehicle collisions are one of the most common causes of TBIs.
Symptoms of TBIs can range from mild to severe and can cause difficulties with balance, coordination, concentration, memory, vision, emotion regulation, and personality changes. While most symptoms can improve within a few weeks, many patients may report ongoing symptoms for months to years.
