About Us
We specialize in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of mild traumatic brain injuries (mTBIs) resulting from auto injuries. We utilize FDA approved diagnostic technology and evidence-based practices to support our patients through the recovery process.
TBI Diagnostic Center was founded in 2022 to fill a critical gap in mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) care.
Our clinic’s founder, Dr. Michael Chan, DC, recognized a recurring problem while treating patients who reported concussion-like symptoms following auto-related injuries. Wanting to refer his patients out to receive necessary care, he realized there was a lack of specialty clinics equipped to evaluate, diagnose, and treat mTBIs. Wanting to advocate for his patients’ needs, Dr. Chan set out to create a practice that could not only provide clear answers, but also assist referring attorneys and providers by providing objective data to support clinical-decision making.
Thus, TBI Diagnostic Center started as a single clinic with a specific purpose that resonated with patients, medical providers, and legal professionals seeking clarity in complex injury cases. Today, TBI Diagnostic Center has expanded to five locations and plans to continuously grow throughout the country. Our multidisciplinary team specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of mTBIs, providing thoughtful, patient-centered care with the highest level of professionalism.
Therapy Provided
TBI Rehabilitation
Our TBI rehabilitation specialists develop individualized protocols targeting visual, oculomotor, vestibular, and cognitive impairments. In-person appointments are provided at multiple locations throughout Washington, with telemedicine appointments available across several states to increase access and flexibility. Our providers are licensed to serve patients in Washington, Oregon, and Montana.
Biofeedback
Biofeedback therapy may be incorporated into a patient’s rehabilitation program to provide strategies that can help manage pain, stress, and symptoms. It is a non-invasive technique that uses sensor monitoring to provide real-time feedback on involuntary bodily processes. By learning how to control these processes, patients can improve nervous system dysregulation following mTBIs.
Headache Management
Our clinic is able to provide referral for medical headache management when clinically indicated. Our medical director, Dr. Piker, has over 10 years of experience in the field and provides a wide variety of treatment options for TBI-related headaches.
