DIAGNOSTICS

Cutting Edge Technology

At TBI Diagnostic Center, we utilize the most up to date technology to help investigate and diagnose injuries of the brain.  This technology is FDA approved and has advanced our understanding of the brain.  With this knowledge, we are able to determine what the injury to the brain is, as well as recommend the best course of rehabilitation to get you back to normal.

EyeSync Technology

The EYE-SYNC technology is a Virtual Reality (VR) based digital health platform that can assess real time brain health, deliver therapy, and improve performance. It provides a battery of assessments that can be used to rapidly detect concussion and other cognitive impairments. Once these impairments are identified, trained clinicians can use various paradigms for monitoring improvement over time or to provide therapy to improve visual and vestibular function.

When injured, the brain can have difficulties controlling and communicating with the vestibular balance system.  Your vestibular system includes organs, nerves, and structures that are in your inner ear.  Your brain communicates with the different systems in your body to control your balance.

We utilize advanced technology such as a VNG or the Eye-Sync (www.SyncThink.com) to test the brain problems with the visuomotor section of your brain.

Quantitative Electroencephalography

We utilize a non-invasive QEEG to track and record the electrical activity in the brain.  Through metal electrodes, the WAVi (www.WaviMed.com) is able to records the brain's reaction to stimulus such as sounds and images.  We are able to record the state the brain is in and track any changes that occur.

Motor vehicle collisions can cause damage to the brain that will alter its ability to function normally.  By detecting these changes, we can recommend the correct rehabilitation to reverse any damage done by the collision.

Posturography

Posturography is a group of tests that are utilized to test posture, balance, and equilibrium.  Problems with these normal body systems could mean an underlying neurological, vestibular, or postural issue.  Often, the onset of these symptoms are a result of a concussion from a motor vehicle collision.  These symptoms often go undiagnosed for days, months, and even years!  We utilize a sophisticated computerized balance plate to examine and diagnose these problems.  Once the problem is determined, we can help you get back on the road to recovery.

Cognitive Evaluation

Cognitive impairment is described by the CDC as impairments leading to difficulty remembering things, learning new things, concentrating, or making decisions that affect their everyday life. Cognitive impairment can range from mild to severe and can be a direct result of injuries suffered in a motor vehicle collision, whether there is a direct blow to the head or not.  These impairments can be exhibited while doing simple tasks like looking for the keys, but they can worsen and progress to the point that people are having difficulties performing executive and higher level functions at home or work.  Once diagnosed, specific neurocognitive rehabilitation can help to minimize or even reverse the damage caused by a TBI.
